Okay... I find it that this episode has to be the most disgusting episode up to date and probably the most disgusting out of all the Digimon shows.

Aside from opinion so far as usual we are finding that the bonds between human + digimon partner bonding can lead to power ups change as usual and more screen time for Ryudamon who now digivolved into Ginryumon.

Final note: I'm not gonna look at mushrooms or can mushrooms the same way again after this :( lol

I cooked mushroom soup for dinner so I can eat while watching this ep. I regret nothing but prayers to the remaining Chamblemon becoming mushroom farms.

I love mushrooms, shiitake, shimeji, chanterelle, Enokitake... but nothing beats my beef stroganoff with champignons...

apparently one of the creators in the Adventures 1 and 2 wanted the show to be actually much darker and was often the one making the darker episodes of the original serious such as Kiari disappearing and being pushed to marry a God of in sort of a eerie dark alternative world from the natural world and statements of them not being digimon. In terms the newer series feels like the guy got his wish about the content he'd develop for ghost game.

Was this episode unintentionally a episode about rape?
Like, white dresses used to mean virgins.
And the fact that getting the spores on you if makes you weak and unfocused (rape drug)
Stealing unconscious victims away.
The victims screaming in pain as their mushrooms are ripped out as they scream for it to stop or are either too frozen to do anything (like actual rape)

This episode was legit creepy, disgusting and very hardcore in the torture department, I loved it! The Chamblemon were extremely ruthless in their harvesting tactics, and we learned that the Digidestined in Ghost Game have some sort of power within them besides the bracelets... which can potentially bring interesting implications.

However... I do feel like Ginryumon was wasted in this episode, he was basically a glorified taxi and I think he could have done a little bit more other than vanishing to the sidelines, but I'm glad that at least Thetismon is getting a lot of love in these latest episodes after being kinda neglected.

Also, are we really getting a Halloween episode next week that matches with Halloween IRL? I'm all up for that, because it means that one year has officially passed in Ghost Game, will it mean that we're finally going to get actual plot after next week's episode? Only time will tell I guess.

I wouldn't be too hopeful yet with the plot progression but I did think of possible implications that Hokuto has made Hiro's Vital Bracelet to specifically allow BlackTailmon to keep tabs on Hiro. Remember last episode with how the Vital Bracelet was beeping and BlackTailmon suddenly appearing to take Nanomon off of the the team's hands after he made himself clear of his selfish motives to achieve godhood through human experimentation.

While I too would have liked Ginryumon to have done something but then again those Chamblemon were supercharged and those spores would just get to him like the others.

Yes, Ginryumon was really wasted because he didn't join the fight against Chamblemon.
Thetismon really shined this time and she was needed actually because she can make serums.
It passed more than one year. Pumpmon's episode was episode 4 and that Halloween episode from last year.

That was extremely disturbing. The thought of having mushrooms growing on you and then someone ripping them off your skin and eating them. Who wrote this episode Ito Junji!?!

especially he just enduring the pain of ripping themushrooms from his own body

his limit break is actually him becoming analytical type hero

I was HOPING they were going to go the "Ruli's pure love for Hiro or Angoramon ^_^ made her mushrooms extra delicious" route, but no, that was just my own, damnable, shipping heart. :(

Digimon tend not to involve romantic aspects because it would complicated everything, even though they teased us with love triangle between Taichi, Sora and Yamato, then between Mimi and Koshiro, Daisuke, Hikari and Takeru, Ken and Miyako, Takato and Juri, Ruki and Ryo, Takuya and Izumi, Masaru and Yoshino (old married couple), Chika and Ikuto, Taiki and Akari, Yuu and Airu, but none of them (except Sora and Yamato and, also, Ken and Miyako) became canon in franchise, but fandom is burning with shipping.
So, yeah, I could see that somebody would ship Ruli with Hiro, but unlike others, between them I didn't feel any chemistry (maybe I am wrong).

Episodes like this of ghost game really makes me curious what will be censored, or just straight up removed if they make an English dub of it and promote it as a kids show.

Petermon's episode would be heavily censored, Gulus Gammamon's violence would be removed, many aspects of body horror or human deaths wouldn't be on screen, etc.

Not gonna lie, it was a little uncomfortable to watch when they ripped the mushrooms from their bodies ... it looked really painful
Which somehow makes Kiyoshiro ripping the mushrooms from his own body and eat them look even more imppressive and disgusting. Limit Break Kiyoshiro is just built different.

you can bet thethismon is gonna become an urban legend goddess in the universe in which the show takes place (and she was already in her debut episode).

Also the Geremon taking away the Chamblemon to either eat them or enslave them ....

Ryudamon came into the series to get help after being forcibly turned into a Gyuukimon due to getting infected by one perhaps but still retained its' mind as Ryudamon and sought help. He was changed back to Ryudamon via the Vital Bracelet being able to link with another Digimon to undo its' forced evolution. Ryudamon started showing up more frequently at Kiyoshiro's room to hangout with Gammamon during the Ghost News episode and now like Espimon is now a recurring resident Digimon who sticks around with the team. .

Not sure about the Geremon thing but I can imagine they gonna enslave the Chamblemon and snack on the mushrooms they make. Geremon are slugs so I imagine they feast on dead matter and they gonna have the Chamblemon turn dying corpses to something they can eat.

If next episode takes place in Halloween, this means it has passed at least 1 full-year in universe (given one of the early episodes took place in halloween)

Yep and with all the witches on brooms, some are speculating its' Witchmon which is fitting.

But yes it is now in universe a full year since Hiro and Ruli met their respective partner Digimon. Kiyoshiro by this point has not yet made legit contact with Jellymon though as that happened after the episode with Pumpkinmon.

but yeah, it would have been already a full year (more or less) since hiro and ruri met their partners....
and i think it has also been a year in real life too.

Okay 4 things i need to say about this episode.

1. I honestly thought this was going to be a Gulusgammamon episode but I guess that when Gammamon is in a state of weakness evolution is a no go.

2. This adventure definitely showed off the personal growth of Kiyoshiro and the resolve of Ryudamon digivolving to Ginryumon

3. Not going to lie those Chamblemon definitely learned the hard way that you should never underestimate the power of a sacred healer and to grow mushrooms the old-fashioned way under the watchful eyes of the Geremon

4. In case you missed it I thought of this idea of my own Digimon Ghost Game Episode called (Growth) and I think I have the perfect digimon for the job, {in the story SuperStarmon has sent his wish granting cadets ( Sorcermon ) to all corners of the globe to grant small wishes of good behaved kids however one of his cadets ( the only Wizardmon ) who wasn’t as strong in magic as his coworkers who tend to pester him went to prove he was just as good as any of them by trying to make the kids with wishes about becoming taller or bigger come true and one of them was Gammamon. At first the kids were ecstatic about getting taller and Gammamon was happy to be as tall as Hiro but then by night thing started getting from good to bad and bad to worse as all the kids kept getting bigger until they were as big as their rooms and still growing and Gammamon was as big as his and Hiro’s Apartment and then while Espimon was doing a flyby and he saw Wizardmon flying over the town. Hiro told Espimon go and tell then rest of the team about their situation. Thankfully Ruli and Angoramon manage to find Wizardmon with kiyoshiro and Jellymon right behind them. But Wizardmon was starting to go mad with power from wishing so many big wishes so everyone digivolved and fought back. They were evenly matched until giant Gammamon came and grabbed on to Wizardmon stopping him in his tracks. Wizardmon told them his story when he calmed down and was worried that SuperStarmon would think he’s not needed as much as he should. that’s when SuperStarmon came and gave him a slap as a warning but he was never going to fire him. He told Wizardmon that the reason why they make small wishes come true so they can collect the energy the kids give their happy and help strengthen their Magic and that’s when Wizardmon undid all his wishes and everything went back to normal as SuperStarmon And Wizardmon said goodbye as they headed towards the Night sky} The end!!!

which is weird because i am pretty sure gammamon was KO when arukenimon nearly ate his brain....
maybe because they didn't touch him or tried to take his mushrooms, was the reason for why grus / gulus didn't show up

Even if they tried to eat mushrooms that grew on Gammamon I doubt that Gulus would show up. Gammamon was too weak to evolve.
From Archnemon's episode, I would say that Gammamon reacted instinctively and because he was in mortal danger he evolved to Gulus.

I agree with @Petar Dimić being KO and being Weakened are 2 different things
